With 38 years of experience in the motor trade, including over 20 years in professional vehicle purchasing, we offer a personal car sourcing service designed to help customers find the right vehicle at the right price.
Whether you're looking for a particular make and model, a specific specification or simply the best vehicle available within your budget, we can put our experience, market knowledge and industry contacts to work for you.
We offer two ways to purchase your next vehicle:
Vehicle Sourcing on Your Behalf – We locate suitable vehicles and, where agreed, arrange to purchase one as your disclosed agent.
JB Auto Source Vehicle Supply – We source and purchase a vehicle ourselves before preparing and supplying it directly to you.
All sourcing fees, purchasing arrangements and any additional costs are explained and agreed before a customer makes a financial commitment.

Our Vehicle Sourcing Process
1. Initial Consultation
We discuss your vehicle requirements, budget and purchasing preferences.
2. Nationwide Vehicle Search
Using our motor trade experience and available sourcing channels, we search for vehicles that closely match your requirements.
3. Vehicle Assessment
Suitable vehicles are assessed using available information, including specification, mileage, service history, MOT records, condition reports and vehicle provenance checks where appropriate.
4. Vehicle Recommendation
We present suitable options and explain the proposed purchase price, known vehicle details, anticipated costs and any significant concerns identified.
5. Customer Approval
No purchase will be made on your behalf without your prior express authorisation and agreement to the relevant costs and terms.
6. Purchase and Delivery
Once a vehicle has been agreed, we proceed under your chosen purchasing arrangement and confirm the relevant payment, collection and delivery arrangements.
Vehicle Sourcing Terms & Conditions
1. Our Services
JB Auto Source provides independent used vehicle sourcing and purchasing services.
Customers may choose between:
Option A – Sourcing and Purchasing on Your Behalf
JB Auto Source acts as a disclosed purchasing agent, sourcing suitable vehicles and assisting with the purchasing process on the customer's behalf.
The identity of the selling party, the purchaser, the agreed sourcing fee and the applicable transaction terms will be confirmed before a purchase is authorised.
Option B – Vehicle Purchased and Supplied by JB Auto Source
JB Auto Source sources and purchases the vehicle in its own name, before preparing and selling the vehicle directly to the customer.
Under this arrangement, JB Auto Source is the vehicle retailer and the customer's purchase contract is with JB Auto Source.
The purchasing arrangement must be agreed in writing before any vehicle is purchased.
2. Vehicle Requirements
Customers are responsible for providing accurate information about their preferred vehicle, required specification and available budget.
JB Auto Source will make reasonable efforts to identify vehicles matching those requirements.
Availability is subject to prevailing market conditions, stock availability, condition and price.
We cannot guarantee that a vehicle meeting every requirement will be available or sourced within a particular timescale.
Any proposed changes to essential requirements will be discussed with the customer before proceeding.
3. Sourcing Fees
Our vehicle sourcing service is chargeable.
The fee will depend on the nature of the request, vehicle type, search complexity and purchasing arrangement.
The following will be confirmed in writing before any chargeable work is agreed:
The applicable sourcing or purchasing fee
When payment becomes due
Exactly what services are included
Any additional costs or third-party charges
Any agreed search period
Cancellation arrangements and applicable statutory rights
An initial discussion about your vehicle requirements does not create an obligation to proceed.
Where JB Auto Source purchases a vehicle for direct retail supply, any separate sourcing charge will be clearly identified and included in the agreed total price before purchase.
No undisclosed sourcing fees will be added.
4. Vehicle Purchase and Additional Costs
Depending on the agreed arrangement, additional costs may include auction buyer fees, vehicle inspections, transport, delivery, preparation, servicing, MOT testing or other specifically agreed services.
Any such charges will be disclosed and agreed with the customer before they are incurred on the customer's behalf.
When JB Auto Source purchases and retails a vehicle directly, the customer will receive an agreed total vehicle price, together with details of any separately chargeable products or services.
Customers will not be required to pay additional costs that have not been agreed or otherwise lawfully incurred.
5. Vehicle Condition and History
Used vehicles may have age-related wear, previous repairs and varying levels of service history.
JB Auto Source will use reasonable care and skill when assessing and sourcing suitable vehicles, taking account of the information available.
Where available and relevant, we will review vehicle history, MOT information, mileage records, mechanical condition and reported cosmetic damage.
Any significant issues identified through our checks will be communicated to the customer before purchase approval.
No inspection or vehicle history check can guarantee that a vehicle is entirely free from defects or that an undisclosed issue will not subsequently arise.
6. Customer Approval and Purchase Authority
Customers will receive details of the proposed vehicle and relevant purchasing costs before being asked to authorise a purchase.
For a purchase made on the customer's behalf, written approval must identify the specific vehicle and agreed maximum authorised expenditure.
JB Auto Source will not exceed that authority without further customer consent.
Where an auction or third-party seller imposes additional purchasing conditions, these will be explained before the customer commits.
7. Payments and Deposits
Any required sourcing payment, deposit or vehicle purchase payment will be confirmed in writing.
Customers will be informed of the recipient of each payment and whether the amount relates to our sourcing service, a vehicle purchase or a third-party charge.
The conditions governing cancellation and the return of payments will be set out before payment is taken.
No deposit is automatically non-refundable. Any deduction or retention must be justified under the agreed terms and applicable law.
8. Cancellation and Refunds
Customers may cancel a sourcing request by contacting JB Auto Source.
The treatment of any sourcing fee or costs already incurred will depend on the services supplied, the agreed contract and the customer's statutory cancellation rights.
Where a sourcing service is contracted online or by telephone, a statutory 14-day cancellation right may apply. If the customer expressly requests that work begins during that period, a lawful proportionate charge may be payable for services supplied before cancellation.
Different cancellation provisions may apply once a service has been fully performed in accordance with the relevant legal requirements.
For vehicles supplied directly by JB Auto Source, applicable consumer rights and any statutory distance-selling cancellation rights will be respected.
9. Consumer Rights and Responsibilities
Where JB Auto Source purchases and sells a vehicle directly to a consumer, the sale is subject to applicable UK consumer protection legislation, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Where JB Auto Source acts solely as a disclosed purchasing agent, the identity of the vehicle seller and the contractual relationship between the relevant parties will be confirmed before purchase.
The purchaser's rights regarding the vehicle will depend on the actual selling party and the nature of that transaction.
Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts statutory consumer rights or any liability which cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Timescales and Availability
We aim to identify suitable vehicles as efficiently as possible.
However, suitable vehicles may be sold, withdrawn, reclassified or become unavailable without notice.
Any estimated sourcing or delivery timescale is subject to agreement and may be affected by third-party availability, transport and preparation.
If a suitable vehicle cannot be found, we will discuss alternative options or ending the search in accordance with the agreed sourcing contract.
11. Communication and Complaints
We aim to provide a professional, transparent and personal service throughout the sourcing process.
Any concerns regarding a vehicle or sourcing service should be raised directly with JB Auto Source so that they can be reviewed and addressed promptly.
